Michael Bender

Mike Bender studied construction management at the University of Arizona. As a partner with over twenty years of construction experience, Mike has established a robust network of business owners, attorneys, architects, designers, developers and construction professionals. He manages the sales department of 41 North Contractors and spearheads for contract negotiations, client management, budgets, and relationships to produce a superior product.

Mike actively sits on the Board of Trustees for the YMCA of Metro Chicago and is also a board member of the Naperville Development Partnership. He aspires to make a difference in the communities that helped shape him as a child. Mike is actively involved in fundraising and assisting with nonprofits like YMCA, Easterseals, Little Friends, Inc. and Turning Pointe Autism Foundation.

Adam Macko

Partner

Adam Macko is a founding partner of 41 North Contractors and has been in the construction industry for over twenty-five years. Adam manages and oversees all facets and operations of 41 North Contractors.

Adam also leads the estimating department, client contract negotiations, and contract execution. Having oversight of projects from preconstruction, estimating, contract negotiations, through project completion Adam is a versatile and indispensable partner at 41 North Contractors.

Ty Macko

Partner

A graduate of Eastern Illinois University, Ty Macko is a founding partner of 41 North Contractors. Ty has cultivated his knowledge from twenty years of construction, with experience in preconstruction planning as well as commercial ground up and fit-out construction. Ty has an arsenal of skills providing superior warranty support, quality control, as well as with safety and compliance management which is braced by his OSHA 30 certification.

George Macko

Partner

Bringing a wealth of knowledge across construction, hospitality, and supply- chain processes, George Macko a 41 North Contractors partner serves as Senior Advisor for the company. George’s forty-five years of experience includes roles at corporate executive, operational, and management levels. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management, and after graduation he served our country as a Naval Aviation Officer. Previously served as a member of several groups including the advisory board for the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at his alma mater, a charter member of the McDonald’s Corporation Global Purchasing Group, chairman of the National Restaurant Association’s Purchasing Managers Group, and as a board member of Operation Support Our Troops.

Mike McFadden

Having studied project management at Purdue Calumet and over twenty years of experience, Mike McFadden is responsible for the day-to-day management of the project managers and superintendents. Mike’s experience in the construction industry ranges from extensive renovations, civil construction, and ground up residential and commercial projects.

Mike’s industry experience and exceptional customer service have built relationships with numerous architects, design firms, and companies like Roka Akor, Cornerstone Restaurant Group, Boka, Darden, Gibsons, Maple & Ash Group, Bond Companies, Michael Jordan's, BIAN, Purple Pig, Roka Akor, Sunda, ICF Consulting Group, YMCA, and many more in both the Chicagoland and Phoenix Metro areas.

Andrew Hunton

General Superintendent

Experience: 16+ years

Andrew Hunton brings over 16 years of extensive experience in the construction industry, having excelled both as a skilled tradesman and a site Superintendent. Throughout his career, he has successfully undertaken a diverse range of projects, from retail and office build-outs to ground-up developments. Andrew's strengths lie in supervising jobsite subcontractors and vendors, and he has demonstrated exceptional management skills by overseeing up to 6 projects and leading multiple superintendents.

Equipped with an OSHA 30 certification and a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, Andy's dedication to continuing education makes him an exceptional Superintendent highly sought after by our clients. His professionalism, organizational prowess, and in-depth knowledge of the industry make him a versatile asset for any project.

Mark Rigby

Pre-Construction Manager

Mark Rigby has been in the construction industry for four years. Initially, he began his career in the hospitality field, working on timeshares and hotels as an estimator, field manager, and superintendent. After two years he transitioned to government contracting, working and bidding government work primarily at Veterans Administration Hospitals across the country. Mark has estimated and worked on jobs ranging from $25,000 to $35,000,000.

Prior to working in construction, Mark was a Captain in the U.S. Army and then worked in a supervisory role in education. His experience in a variety of leadership roles serves him well in his current position as 41 North Contractors’ Pre-Construction Manager. With his detail-oriented and exceptional interpersonal skills, Mark is able to facilitate smooth transitions with subcontractors and owners. Mark has a Bachelor of Science in economics from the United States Military Academy at West Point, along with a vast amount of military schooling, Officers Basic and Advanced Courses, Airborne School, and Ranger School. Furthermore, he holds two master’s degrees. Furthermore, he holds two master's degrees: Mathematics from DePaul University and Education Leadership from Northern Illinois University.

Katie McCann

Senior Project Estimator

Katie McCann joined 41 North Contractors with a decades worth of construction experience. Having earned a bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Minnesota and an OSHA 30 certification, Katie comes with experience in healthcare, specialty, tenant improvement, and federal construction. Initially starting her career as a project manager, Katie transitioned to estimating and has thus far estimated and worked on jobs ranging from $25,000 to $48,000,000. Katie's project experience and client relationships include Army Enterprise Assessment System, Laurie Woolverton, and Interactive Design Architecture.

Halley Pardy

Illinois Business Development

Halley Pardy supports business development of the Illinois branch of 41 North Contractors, as well as the company’s marketing. Halley focuses on a wide variety of vertical markets including multi-family, healthcare, and self- storage. She is passionate about connecting with individuals and developing long-term, mutually beneficial working relationships. She is currently a part of he National Association of Women in Construction and is looking forward to championing women to impact the direction of the construction industry. Halley also represents 41 North Contractors as a developing leader in the Chicago Chapter of the Commercial Real Estate Development Association (NAIOP) and is a member of Industrial Women in Real Estate (IWIRE).

Lynn McDonald

HR Director

Lynn McDonald is an experienced Human Resource Manager with over 15 years in the field. She finds great fulfillment in her role by assisting employees, offering guidance, and creating a positive work environment. Lynn's dedication to maximizing organizational resources and driving performance improvements is evident in her daily efforts.

In addition to her HR expertise, Lynn holds a Paralegal degree from Lewis University and actively engages in community development through volunteer work. She has served on the board for the Council for Working Woman, where she chaired the Communication committee and completed a not-for-profit project benefitting the Joliet Community.

Lynn's commitment to personal growth is reflected in her attendance at the Landmark Forum and her People Manager Qualification (PMQ) certification from SHRM. As a valuable member of the organization and SHRM community, Lynn continues to make a positive impact as a Human Resource Manager, supporting employees and contributing to the organization's success.

Stephen Searles

Senior Project Estimator

Stephen Searles is a senior project estimator at 41 North Contractors with a wealth of experience in the construction industry. He holds degrees in Construction Management and Civil Engineering from Westwood College, Cosumnes River College, and California State University. Additionally, Stephen has completed a Project Management program at DePaul University.

Throughout his career, Stephen has worked on a wide range of projects, from residential renovations and custom residential new construction with budgets ranging up to $8 million, to commercial projects valued up to $30 million. His notable project contributions include the Matteson Recreation Center, Proviso East High School, Pain and Orthopedic Center, and Row 24.

Ed Horvat

Arizona Facilities Director

Ed is 41 North Contractor’s Director of Facilities in Arizona with over 35 years in the construction and project management industry. His background has been largely focused on the high rise multifamily industry - working on large projects in occupied buildings including amenity spaces, retail spots, rooftop/terrace spaces, fitness centers. Ed has worked on high and mid rise building envelope projects, precast and cast in place parking structures, office space, retail TI projects and warehouse TI projects. Ed has spent his career gaining knowledge and experience in a wide variety of projects. Ed studied Construction Management and has been in the field and office in a variety of positions.

Brianne Abbasi

Arizona Business Development

Brianne Abbasi runs Business Development at 41 North Contractor’s Arizona Branch. Brianne has spent her career fostering a robust, sustainable network of clients in the Southwest region, leveraging strong listening, presentation and closing skills. Her background has been largely focused on the restaurant and retail industry where she has worked alongside key decision makers at every phase of the development process. Brianne studied Veterinary Medicine and Biology-Pre Med at Iowa State University. She is currently apart of The National Association of Women in Construction, as well as the Arizona Chapter of the Commercial Real Estate Development Association (NAIOP), and Arizona Association For Economic Development (AAED).

Todd Shaffer

Senior Project Manager

Experience: 30+ years

Todd Shaffer is a Construction Project Management professional with over 30 years of experience. He has extensive experience in a wide variety of large-scale developments, and has managed multiple design and construction teams across mixed use developments, retail, hospitality, sports and entertainment, higher education, K-12, industrial, historical restoration, utility and civil infrastructure.

With respect from his clients, co-workers, contractors, and field staff, Todd is knowledgeable in all facets of the development process, design and construction, and boasts of a long list of completed projects and team successes in various industries. Besides his career progression, Todd is also committed to community improvement through volunteering in non-profit boards, events, and serving on the local fire department as a fire fighter/EMT-B.

Todd began his career with an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering Technology and Construction Management followed up more recently with an MBA to enhance his skill set and knowledge of the construction and real estate development business. He has also earned his Certified Construction Manager certification (CCM) and is a graduate of both the Stark County Ohio and Kent State University Leadership programs. Todd is a leader in construction management and real estate development, with experience in managing large scale, multi-phase, and complex construction projects with aggressive schedules with over $750 million dollars of experience with his largest project to date being the $120 million dollar Hall of Fame Village Stadium.

Kristine Hoffman

Chief Financial Officer

With a background spanning nearly 15 years in accounting and finance, Kristine Hoffman brings a wealth of expertise garnered from her time in the public accounting industry as well as her recent experience in a non-profit organization. Throughout her career, Kristine has demonstrated her ability to promote accountability and streamline financial processes, effectively aligning finance with broader business objectives.

Kristine holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Robert Morris University, and she is actively pursuing her CPA designation, showcasing her dedication to professional growth and development. Kristine's comprehensive skill set and commitment to excellence will greatly contribute to the success and growth of our company.

Jon Newlin

Director of Estimating

Jon Newlin has been an experienced and accomplished estimator in the construction field. A graduate of Purdue University, with over 15 years of experience in the industry, Jon has developed a deep understanding of the estimating process in various types of construction projects.

Jon has worked on projects of various sizes and complexities, ranging from tenant improvements to new construction speculative and built-to-suit projects. He has a broad range of preconstruction experience in office, lobby/amenity, restaurant, retail, healthcare, dispensary, and industrial projects. Notable clients Jon has worked with include the Museum of Science & Industry, Giordano’s, Market Creations at Willis Tower, Gordon Ramsay, The Foxtail, The Purple Pig, among others.

Scott Rolston

Director of Illinois Operations

Scott Rolston is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the construction and real estate industries. He has a proven track record of success in project management, financial analysis, and community engagement. Scott's career highlights include overseeing the renovation of the iconic Willis Tower, managing the construction of several high-end restaurants including Hauser Ross, Hugo's Frog Bar, Tasca Chevorlet, Kovach Eye Institute, Boka Restaurant Group, Gibsons Steakhouse, Ancho & Agave, Federales, and Voodoo Donuts. He also played a critical role in the Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano franchise, helping to expand the brand to multiple locations across the country.

In addition to his project management and leadership expertise, Scott is well-versed in financial analysis and tax planning. He has a deep understanding of the complex financial structures involved in real estate transactions, as well as the political landscape that can impact development projects.

Scott studied Marketing Management, Industrial Marketing and Business Law at the University of South Florida College of Business Administration and holds professional real estate licenses issued by the Coldwell Banker School of Real Estate.

Glenn Heathcote

Director of Arizona Operations

Glenn Heathcote is an experienced construction professional with a career spanning 40 years and is the Director of Arizona Operations. He has a proven track record of success in project management, particularly in large-scale commercial projects. Glenn specializes in construction management, with expertise in high-rise towers, condominiums, hotels, casinos, mixed-use properties, industrial facilities, healthcare projects, biotech facilities, and mission critical projects.

Glenn oversees all aspects of project management, from start-up to closeout, ensuring that budgets, schedules, quality standards, and value engineering objectives are met or exceeded. Glenn's professional experience includes working with renowned companies such as Gilbane Building Company, WG Yates and Son Construction Company, Heathcote Façade Consulting, LLC, AECOM Tishman Construction Services, and Tudor Perini Building Group.

Michael Galla

Arizona General Superintendent

Michael Galla is an accomplished and experienced General Superintendent in the construction industry, overseeing operations in Arizona. With a career spanning over forty-four years, Michael's journey began at a young age of 16, when he started his construction path by building houses. Through dedication, hard work, and a passion for the craft, he swiftly climbed the ranks from a laborer to General Superintendent, showcasing his innate leadership skills and deep understanding of the industry. Throughout his career, Michael has been involved in a wide range of projects, boasting an impressive portfolio that includes multimillion-dollar custom homes, wood frame and steel buildings, as well as large-scale structural renovations. Under his watchful eye, the projects he has supervised have ranged from $200,000 to $75,000,000 in value.

One standout achievement in Michael's career was the Sedona schools project, where he supervised the simultaneous construction of nine buildings across three different schools, with a cumulative value of $75 million. Notable among his successes are two projects that he takes great pride in. The Peoria Sports Complex in Peoria, AZ, stands as a testament to his expertise. This multifaceted project involved the construction of a two-story team shop with a sky deck, as well as the Third Base Extension, with a combined value of $25 million.

Another remarkable accomplishment was the Carvana tower in Glendale, AZ. This distinctive build featured an eight-story steel and glass tower accompanied by a 5,000-square-foot sales office, all situated on a sprawling 5-acre site. Michael's meticulous attention to detail and ability to navigate complex architectural designs ensured the successful completion of this unique project.

Lance Beeler

Director of Preconstruction

Lance Beeler is the Director of Preconstruction and comes with extensive experience across various market sectors and projects totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Western Illinois University and pursuing a Master of Science in Management at the University of Illinois, his expertise is unapparelled and has contributed to the accumulation of his impressive portfolio; significant projects include the University of Cincinnati mid-rise office and hotel center, Target distribution centers, MOPAR distribution centers, and US Air Force Barracks. His versatility is evident in ventures such as childcare facilities, retail locations for Amazon and Microsoft, and cannabis retail establishments for GTI, Verano, and Zenleaf. Notable developments like the Scottish Rite Cathedral, the Knickerbocker Hotel, and the State Farm corporate office showcase Lance's ability to shape unique and impactful structures.

Laura Magnuson

With over 15 years of experience in real estate development and construction, Laura Magnuson has transitioned from a hands-on project management role to business development.
